Darn, I've googled this up-down-sideways.
A few years back, I saw a romance type movie, where the recurring theme music was Scarlet Begonias, playing in the background on the radio...etc. Does anyone here know the name of it?

Sounds like there are a few of us digging down for this movie! What's the prize for the winner? :-)

THE FOLLOWING IS BASED ON A BRAIN FART BY YOURS TRULY:

Might not be exactly what you're looking for, but I found the following:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0163187/soundtrack

While not performed by the Dead, it is the song (NO, NO IT'S NOT). It does, howver, also have Ripple which it states is performed by the Dead

I found it my googling Robert Hunter + Soundtrack

CORRECTION: I am not smart very. Wrong song. Premature delaration of vitory. Shit.

So that damned rastamon had us looking for the wrong song did he? It was Sugar Magnolia - not Scarlet Begonias...

Anyway - if you're right then congratulations, SDH.
See you on the ice!

No, it IS Scarlet Begonias. When I get back to Livermore, I'm going to a few movie rental places and check my rental history. This is making me crazy! :)

Hey, any soundtrack with a Chixie Dicks song and a Hall & Oates song has gots to rock.
What I really want to know is how did they slip Ripple in there undetected by the censors? Can't have that Grateful Dead stuff going mainstream.

I checked it out too and could find nothing, although something about it is eerily familiar.
Along the same line, what are some other times when the Dead was used in a movie soundtrack?
I remember seeing "Mask" years ago and being very happy to hear Ripple playing on the radio during one scene.
Any others?

I remember it was a whimsical movie...kinda dejavu. I think he met her when the song was playing and it plays at times thru the whole movie.
God! my memory sucks!

"Zabriskie Point" used Dark Star while some guy wandered around Death Valley. I want to say Truckin' was used in "Forrest Gump" but I wouldn't swear to it...
